Light and Laser Show Tribute at RSC Anderlecht

At RSC Anderlecht, football culture and music have long gone hand in hand. In 1985, Belgian singer Grand Jojo wrote Anderlecht Champion to celebrate the club’s league title — a song that would later evolve into the globally recognised football chant “Olé, Olé, Olé.”

Four decades later, the club celebrated the legacy of the iconic anthem with a spectacular tribute show created together with Mosaert, the creative collective behind Belgian artist Stromae, who produced a special remix of the historic track.

To bring this celebration to life inside the stadium, MaxAmaze delivered the full light and laser show production for the tribute performance.

A Timecoded Show Designed for the Stadium

The show was fully programmed on timecode, synchronising lighting, lasers and effects with the remix of the legendary anthem. This precise programming ensured a seamless visual experience aligned with the music and choreography prepared for the tribute moment.

MaxAmaze deployed a large-scale lighting and effects setup, including laser systems for both aerial effects and field projections, high-end beam fixtures and a full roof lighting installation. In total, the setup included:

  • 12 laser units for show effects and field projection
  • 16 high-end beam fixtures
  • 60 colour washers illuminating the stadium roof
  • 40 wash fixtures delivering dynamic visual effects

Together, these elements transformed the stadium environment into a fully immersive tribute to one of football’s most recognisable anthems.

Supporting a Cultural Moment at Lotto Park

The tribute show formed part of a broader celebration of Anderlecht’s cultural heritage and its connection with Brussels. The remix and choreography — created by Mosaert — honoured the lasting impact of Anderlecht Champion, a song that still echoes through the stadium before every home match.

With the light and laser show, MaxAmaze provided the technical foundation that allowed this moment to unfold with precision and visual impact — reinforcing the role of technology in shaping modern stadium storytelling.
